دَافَهُ, (T, M, Mṣb,) first pers. دُفْتُهُ, (Ṣ, Ḳ,) aor. يَدُوفُهُ, (T, Mṣb,) inf. n. دَوْفٌ; (T, M, Mṣb, Ḳ;) andادافهُ↓, (M, TA,) inf. n. إِدَافَةٌ; (TA;) He mixed it; (M, Ḳ;) generally meaning medicine, and perfume: (M:) and (Ḳ) he moistened it, (Ṣ, Mṣb, Ḳ,) namely, medicine, &c., (Ṣ,) with water, &c., (Ṣ, Mṣb,) or with water and the like: (Ḳ:) or دافه فِى المَآءِ [he steeped it in water], namely, perfume, &c.: (T:) and دَافَهُ, aor. يَدِيفُهُ, inf. n. دَيْفٌ, is a dial. var. thereof: (Mṣb:) and فَادَهُ, aor. يَفُودُهُ signifies the same. (Aṣ, TA.) [Also, app., He bruised, brayed, or pounded, it; or powered, or pulverized, it; namely, musk: see مَدُوفٌ, below.]

مَدُوفٌ

مَدُوفٌ (T, Ṣ, M, Mṣb, Ḳ) and مَدْوُوفٌ, (Ṣ, M, Mṣb, Ḳ,) the latter of the dial. of Temeem, (M,) and [said to be] the only instance of the kind, (Ṣ, Mṣb, Ḳ,) i. e., of a pass. part. n. of a triliteralradical verb with a medial و (Ṣ, Mṣb,* TA,) except مَصُوونٌ (Ṣ, Mṣb, Ḳ) as a variation of مَصُونٌ, (Ṣ, Mṣb,) though Mbr asserts it to be agreeable with a rule obtaining in all similar cases, which none [other] of the leading authorities allows, (Mṣb,) and مَدُوفٌ and مَصُونٌ are the usual forms, (Ṣ, TA,) Mixed: (M, Mṣb:) or moistened: or bruised, brayed, or pounded; or powdered, or pulverized: (Ṣ, Ḳ:) applied to perfume, (T,) or to musk: (Ṣ, M, Ḳ:) as alsoدَائِفٌ↓. (TA.)
